The staff there is very helpful, and has good tenure, which is very important to me, not to mention the price is good, which is not the only issue, but the price is in line with what I expect. I was able to see people eating, and the food appeared to be good; the selections were good. I also visited here and recommended it to one of my mom's friends. The rooms were great and big in size, too. It looked like a restaurant with nice table settings.
I also did see involvement while I was there. I agree to canada247.info Terms & Conditions, including to not write false reviews, which is in many cases against the law. They had activities but the atmosphere wouldn't work for my mother-in-law. It seemed a little more updated and didn't have that homey feeling to us. They had a movie night, trivia night, bingo, church on Sundays, painting classes, crocheting, and different things on the weekends. The dining area was fine, but we didn't try the food.

Between my brother and I, we visit often on days, evenings and weekends and the building always looks and smells great. Maple Wood is really quite large, but it is quiet. I did eat there, and I thought the food was pretty good.
You can trust that your list of recommended communities has been personally vetted by an experienced senior living professional. She initially went in at assisted living. I toured their place, I met their administrator, and she was very nice. My mom fell, it increased her dementia and Alzheimer's, and the facility thought she would be very suited for memory care, and so they moved her to their memory care unit. I was not able to get in and really see her, or spend any time with her, so I had to do window visits. I felt like we were not at the right facility in memory care.

This company claims to have a 60 day money back guarantee. After 10 days in this facility and just over a month past her move in date, local offices have finally returned calls and denied our refund request. It has been less than 60 days since she moved in and now she is not allowed back. We’re still waiting on a returned call from corporate.
Maple Wood is a very nice facility and they were good. The rooms were nice and apartment-type. The downside is you can't bring an animal with you. My mom has moved into Cedarhurst of Springfield MO. They do a good job of taking care of her. They specialize in memory care, which is my mom's biggest problem. They seem to do a good job taking care of the facility. I like that they have outside people come in and give music therapy. They have karaoke with residents, too, and they do sing-a-long. For people who are losing their memories, one thing they don't lose is music, so it's a good way for them to connect.
They have like Bible online, or on TV, that they watch. They have little morning social gatherings where they drink coffee and talk. They're very friendly, very informative, and very helpful. They've keep me updated every time I call them, and make sure that I speak with someone that knows his care and directly works with him. Most of them do work directly with him, whether they are at the front desk, or whether they are actually certified nurse aides. They just work together, and they're very caring that way too.

The staff was very informative, they answered all of my questions and it was a very good tour. Their rooms were more like shared living spaces. I was shown the rooms, they showed me all the safety features and everything that would be involved, including the living areas. They gave me a calendar that showed everything they have set up for the month, all the activities and things they're doing.
I was also there one night and they had a magician there. My mom has lived at this facility for the past two and a half years. She gets good care and enjoys the activities and sharing the meal experience with her tablemates. All of the staff are always very accommodating and attentive when mom needs help.

She had a high fall risk, and they had told me that if she fell again, they couldn't keep her there, and they would not be able to take her back. They were good and they did the best they could do. Their nurse there was an awesome lady, she really tried and really took a lot of extra effort with my mom, and really tried to spend some time with her and console her. She went above and beyond with my mom, but she left them.
